A service that provides free, on-demand rides in Basalt made its debut Monday.

Basalt Connect will operate between 6 and 9 a.m. and 3 to 10 p.m. daily in February, March and April. There will be no service in May, October and November. The hours will be expanded to 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekends June through September.  Basalt Connect  - 2022 Service Hours  

The operator is urging people to download Basalt Connect from the app store on a smart phone and request a ride with a tap of a button.
