Auden Schendler is Vice President of Sustainability at Aspen Skiing Company where he works on climate activism, clean energy, and green development. He was previously a researcher at Rocky Mountain Institute. In the Roaring Fork Valley, Auden has taught high school, instructed for the Colorado Outward Bound School, served as a planning and zoning commissioner and volunteer EMT in Carbondale, and cooked hamburgers at the old Charburger in Basalt. He is on the board of Conservation Colorado, and Board Chair of Protect Our Winters. An avid kayaker, skier, backpacker, reader and writer, Auden has lived in the valley since 1992, and in Basalt since 2001with his wife Ellen and their children Willa and Elias.
